How to delete your account

1. Open the Sotare app or sotare.app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings → Account and tap Delete account.
3. Confirm your password when prompted.
4. Type DELETE on the confirmation screen and tap Permanently delete.

Deletion is available entirely inside the app — you never need to email us to delete your account.

What happens when you delete your account

If you have an active subscription, it is cancelled immediately and will not renew. You lose access to subscriber chapters right away, and any remaining time in the current billing period is forfeited.

There is no undo. Once you confirm, deletion cannot be reversed, so make sure before you type DELETE.

What gets deleted, and when

• Your email address, password, display name, and reading progress on every story are permanently deleted.
• All active sessions are ended immediately.
• The remaining removal completes within 72 hours, and any copies in encrypted backups are cleared within 30 days total.
• We keep no personal data after deletion, apart from billing records our payment processor retains as required by tax law. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what we collect and how long anything is kept.
• You’ll receive a final confirmation email once your account has been deleted.

Requesting deletion without app access

If you can’t sign in, email privacy@sotare.app from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We’ll verify you own the account before processing the request — this protects you from someone else deleting your account on your behalf.

Creating a new account afterward

You’re welcome to sign up again with the same email — it’s treated as a brand-new account. Your previous reading progress is not restored, and you won’t receive marketing emails again until you re-consent.
